Sri Lanka is an Island nation situated in Indian ocean. People call Ceylon, Sri Lanka, Cerendib and pearl of the Indian ocean to this Island. It is very famous for its natural beauty. Today with this article, I’m going to talk about some breath taking top tourist destinations in Sri Lanka. In these places, you can see wild animals, plant life, temples, ancient Sri Lankan architecture and beautiful beaches. Let’s go to the places now.

1- Kandy – Kandy is situated in middle part of the country and this area has lot of mountains, diary farms and tea estates. Not only that but Sacred temple of lord Buddha’s tooth relic also situated in this city. One of my favorite cities in Sri Lanka. Climate is cool and very comfortable here. 2- Yala and Udawalawe - If you visit these two places, you can see lot of wild animals. In Yala there are deers, moose, leopards, wild boars, crocodiles, elephants and many kinds of birds. Udawalawe is specially for elephants. I believe Udawalawe has more elephants than in Yala. 3- Sinharaja - Sinharaja (Lion King) is a natural rain forest. Most of tourists go there mainly to see the plant life. I didn’t visit this place, but my friends who visited there told me it’s really beautiful. Wild animals are not easily seen in this forest but there are elephants, leopards, snakes, birds and other wild animals living. In 1988 UNESCO reserved this natural rain forest as a world heritage site. 4- Anuradhapura and Polonnaruwa - These two northern cities are famous for ancient Sri Lankan architecture. If you travel there, you have lot of sites to visit. There are ancient ruins, statues, reservoirs, temples, paddy fields and many more. This area has kinda hot weather all over the year.
